Minature Golfing

Jake has been wanting to go golfing for a long time. So, while grandma and grandpa Eustice were here we went minature golfing. He was so excited, he could hardly contain himself. However, he had been very concerned about missing school that day (it was only a 2 hour day, due to conferences). I thought wow, he is really maturing, he is actually concerned about missing school. Well when we were on the third hole he excalimed, "this is a lot more fun than recess!" The real reason we were concerned about missing school :)

Jake's goodbye song

Grandma and Grandpa Eustice came for a visit. They stayed with us for a week. Jake loved every minute of it. When they left he cried and cried. Then a couple of hours later he said, "Oh no, I forgot to sing them my goodbye song, it came to me while I was sleeping the other night." When he got teary eyed I got the camera out and video taped him sing the song. I hope it turns out.

Jake's new word

Jake goes through phases were he learns a new word and then uses it all the time, for weeks. His new word is unconsciously, but he pronounces it "unconstantly". He is experimenting on how to use it. His favorite way to use it is every time he does something wrong to say, "no I didn't do it I just did it unconstantly". Last night when he dog wet in the house, he tried to tell me it was ok, he just did it unconstantly. Then today he told me didn't eat his sandwich at school because his juice got all over it. When I questioned whether he got juice on it or the juice box had actually leaked in his lunch box, his reply was after he put the straw in the juice box unconstantly just started leaking. When I asked him if he knew what unconsciously meant, he said, "of course, it mean when don't mean to something". Sounds like a great new word for when you don't want to take responsibility for anything. :)

Jake's favorite things

I was busy doing homework and Matt was still at work. I came out to check on Jake and he was sitting on the couch like this. The TV wasn't on or anything, he was just sitting quietly with a smile on his face. When he saw me he immediately asked me to bring him a drink. He said he couldn't get up and get one because he just got all his Webkinz and Chilly to sleep and couldn't move. I don't know about the Webkinz but Chilly was sound asleep.
